I grew up in Australia during a 15-year drought, which taught me about the importance of water conservation. But worldwide, many big businesses don’t keep track of how much water they use – and how much they waste.

A new international water standard, launched by the Carbon Trust, encourages businesses to record – and reduce – the amount of water they use every year. It won’t solve the world’s water woes instantly, but it’s a good start.
