A huge iceberg called B-31 has broken off a glacier in Antarctica. It might be on course for shipping lanes. Scientists are tracking B-31's movement using satellite, radar and GPS data. Accurate iceberg trajectory models could prevent shipping disasters.Corrinne
Grant Bigg is an oceanography and polar environment expert at the University of Sheffield. He was awarded an Urgency grant to examine the trajectory of the B-31 iceberg. We asked him about this work and its significance to the shipping world.
