Stem cells as a future treatment are an amazing prospect, but still controversial. So I'm excited to hear about one of thefirst ever trials of stem cells in patients. Stroke victims received stem cells directly into their damaged brain regions and already show signs of improvement.

However, some researchers think the results might be caused by the extra medical attention the patients received, not the treatment itself. I hope a larger trial proves them wrong...
