I'll admit it: I'm really scared of spiders. But new research could help calm my fears.

Brazilian researchers have developed a vaccine that protects lab rabbits against the venomous bites of a group of spiders.

It won't be available for humans just yet, and it doesn't cover all spiders. But this vaccine could be the start of a new way of dealing with deadly spider bites. That would make my spider phobia completely irrational!

Would a vaccine ease your fear of spiders?

Bites from the brown spider can cause ulcers and even internal haemorrhaging.
