These skin suits look cool... I want one!

They are designed to squeeze the body in a way that mimics Earth's gravity. Without that force, astronauts' spines can lengthen and cause painful problems. Similar suits based on space tech already help patients with mobility problems. This suit might lead to therapeutic suits for bed-bound patients.

I hope they get to test it on the International Space Station. Space research is part of humanity's future, and it benefits people today too.

Julia Attias has written a Science Museum blog post about her research with the skin suit.
