Search teams are using a robot sub to look for the missing Malaysia Airlines plane. I imagined Bluefin-21 to be larger - it's about 5 metres long - but it makes sense to be more compact. The sub will operate on its own for 20 hours at a time.

This shows how much effort people put into searches. Several countries are cooperating and using advanced equipment to find out what really happened. Hopefully the relatives of the lost travellers will eventually get some closure.

Bluefin-21 has swappable sections that allow it to be customised for different missions.
