I'm surprised that rats feel regret, and that researchers have found the first evidence of regret in another mammal.

When rats were too impatient to wait for a favourite treat they regretted moving on so quickly. This is just like our behaviour, and it involves the same area of the brain in both humans and rats - the orbitofrontal cortex.

This makes me wonder about the things I regret. Do I learn to make better decisions from regret?
