I've never liked the idea of plant pesticides and their toxic ways. In a recent review, a controversial class of pesticides known as neonicotinoids were found to cause brain shrinkage in newborn rats. Afraid that they may be harmful to human brain development, the European Food Safety Authority has proposed lowering safe pesticide levels while further research is carried out. We may need more evidence, but before I take a crunchy bite out of my fruit and vegetables, I'll rinse thoroughly.

Do you rinse your fruit and veg before eating it?

Neonicotinoids were linked to last year’s falling numbers in bee populations.
