I'm slightly grossed out by this morning's news that teeth can be grown from pee!

Researchers in China have taken stem cells from urine. The extracted cells were combined with other material to grow rudimentary teeth.

Other scientists have commented that urine might not be the best source of stem cells, as it doesn't contain very many. The risk of contamination could also be higher than with cells from other sources. I'm left wondering why the researchers are doing this...

Would you use teeth made from urine?

The urine-based teeth were not as hard as natural teeth but contained enamel, dental pulp and dentine.
