I think that vaccinations are one of the most amazing things about modern medicine. Horrible diseases such as polio and diphtheria are very rare in the UK today because we've invested in vaccination. Hopefully meningitis B will soon be a thing of the past too.

The UK has just become the first country in the world to start giving the meningitis B vaccine to all newborn babies. The vaccine will protect babies against a disease which can cause long-term problems such as deafness or epilepsy and is sometimes fatal.

What do you think about the free vaccine?

The vaccine has been available to buy in the UK but has only just been made free for newborns.
