Climate change happens over decades, so I find it hard to notice what's different now compared with when I was a child. But a new report says its effects have already started.

The comprehensive report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change details big changes already happening to the world, such as the loss of Arctic sea ice. It worries me because worse is to come, and the changes will start affecting our lives more and more. When will governments worldwide take strong action to curb greenhouse emissions?

I feel like until those who pull the purse strings in the Governments of rich nations are personally affected, nothing will happen. But they will always be able to buy a house higher up the hill. Maybe this is our era's black death, history will judge us fools.
