Like the Hubble Space Telescope, I turn 25 this year - but its achievements make me jealous.

Hubble has produced a treasure-trove of stellar images, and they aren't just a bunch of pretty pictures. The telescope has helped us determine the age of the universe and explore the existence of dark matter. It has shown us galaxies in all stages of evolution and opened up a new world of questions about our universe.

And if you think Hubble is past its prime, think again. Just recently the telescope discovered a curious stellar explosion that defies classification. Happy birthday!
