November 10, 2015 | Will

In the past I remember wrapping up warm on bonfire night. But I've found it less necessary in recent years.

The UK Met Office says that the global average temperature for 2015 is likely to be more than 1 degree Celsius higher than the average for 1900 - the first time this barrier has been broken.

When the temperature difference reaches 2 degrees, scientists predict there will be drastic changes to the environment, affecting global health and wellbeing.

Reaching this halfway point seems to have happened very quickly. I feel we can do something to slow the increase, but we need to hurry.

One degree might not seem much, but it makes a huge difference to the global weather system.
