These long, balmy summer days have me ditching the extra layers of clothes. But there's one layer I just can't take off like a cardigan my layer of winter fat! But there is new hope on the horizon...

Researchers at Harvard Medical School have discovered that white fat cells are able to 'feel' the cold. When exposed to lower temperatures in the lab, they released heat energy and burned calories directly. The next step will be to find a way to trick these cells into feeling cold even if it's warm outside.
