Having had a happy childhood, I was sad to read a recent study about the impact of stressful environments on children. According to the research, children who grow up in unstable families and in poverty may have marks of chronic stress on their DNA. This could affect long-term health.

However, this was a really small study of just 40 boys. I think a larger and more varied investigation is needed to better understand the impact of stress on us as we grow up.
