I think my voice is quite annoying - I'm very nasal! But some people can use their voice to charm almost anyone, and now scientists think they know why. It's all to do with whether your voice sounds low or high.

Some people have a wider vocal range than others, so they can adjust their voice's pitch depending on who they're talking to. That's important, say the scientists, because the type of voice we trust varies across different cultures. But I reckon charisma is much more about your character than your voice.
