I know that early diagnosis is really important in many diseases to avoid serious problems. So it's great to hear how researchers have been able to pinpoint the affected brain regions in patients who suffer from Alzheimer's disease or schizophrenia.

It's currently difficult to determine which patients might develop these illnesses. But these findings show a link between these two very different conditions in the brain areas affected. This could help us find a way to diagnose those at risk earlier.
