A robotic arm, hand and arm cast… Am I detecting a pattern in the winners of the 2013 James Dyson Foundation awards?

One thing they definitely have in common is that they owe their existence to 3D printing. The relatively inexpensive manufacturing technology allowed all three teams to rapidly prototype their designs and realise their ingenuity.

Commenting on the awards, Sir James Dyson has said it's a good time to be an inventor. I couldn't agree more.

Come and see Jake Evill's award-winning arm cast alongside more than 600 other 3D-printed things in our latest exhibition, 3D: printing the future.
