Landsat launch

  • February 12, 2013 | David

I love landscape photography and I’ve always wanted to travel the world to take pictures in as many places as I can. But I’d never dream of doing what the newly launched Landsat-8 satellite can do: image the entire Earth every 16 days.

The Landsat project has been taking satellite images of our planet’s surface for 40 years, and the latest satellite will continue this important work, using improved detectors. The freely available images it makes will help us to track and understand our changing world.
