QR coding Rio
-
February 1, 2013 |
QR codes are everywhere these days. Last summer, Portuguese cities even started embedding them into pavements.
Now Rio de Janeiro is joining the pavement party. The city is using traditional mosaic stones to make its pavement QR codes, so they complement the local environment beautifully.
By the time the 2016 Olympics come along there’ll be 30 QR mosaics dotted around Rio. They’ll be found on beaches and in historic areas, and will direct tourists to useful information.
Maybe we should start putting them on the floor of the Science Museum. What do you think?
