Beetle bottles

  • November 26, 2012 | Rohan

With all this rain we’re getting it’s hard to imagine that almost half the human population struggles to find clean water. Some places are just so unbearably dry!

Researchers are desperate to crack the problem of getting clean drinking water to people in such areas. A team from Boston have a good idea with bottles that pull drinking water out of thin air.

Their approach is nothing new, though. Some insects such as the Namib Desert beetle have been doing this for millions of years.
