Robot revolution research

  • November 27, 2012 | David

I’m more worried about a zombie apocalypse than a robot uprising. But according to a new research centre, the increasing power of our computers demands that we take seriously the possibility of a robot revolution.

The Centre for the Study of Existential Risk will study the biggest hazards associated with science in the future, from catastrophic climate change to runaway nanotechnology and robot uprisings. While these sound like Hollywood plot lines, I think it’s important that we look carefully at how science could change our lives in the future.
