The end of the universe?

    As the Large Hadron Collider closes for repairs and reconfiguration I find myself asking: what have we learned so far from the biggest ever science experiment?

    It could tell us how the universe will end. The physicist Joseph Likken thinks the evidence points to a bubble of a new universe forming inside our own and expanding at the speed of light, destroying everything in its wake…

    But not for a few billion years, so no need to panic yet.

If this theory is correct, our own universe was once a bubble inside another universe.
