what if you don’t have a phone?
Db Cooper
This is simply to get people to spend more. From the banks point of view, it will preferably be money people do not have, aka credit. Credit generates profit for banks.
Rob Fuscate
I already use my Android to buy stuff of the ‘net can’t see that this is much different
Ade
A great idea. The dowside is fraud and identity theft. Safeguards are needed for this technology.
Abz
you never know these days somenes could hack into yur phone and get your card num bers. internet is as unsafe as it should go.
Katie
I think that it would be better to have phones
Mick
Eventually, but it’ll be the death of small traders, while banks, insurers and employers will be able to scrutnise all my spending. It’s not for our benefit.
JAMIE, 12
Yes, but if this happens, everyone will need a phone to support this. If this is to happen, Parliament will have to give a free phone to everyone who sets up a bank account. It’s unnecessary.

CLEVER IDEA SO LONG AS IT IS ACTUALLY SECURE!
B Way
payments by phone?!? I declare this unnatural. YOU SHALL BURN AS A WITCH!
Paulo
I think that if we could pay bills using the digital impression of our finguers would be better.
Ali
its not fair on people who do not have a phone.
Sam
of course it will happen. you know apple will do it!!!! and it will save paper.
Chris
no its a heinous idea, where have old fashioned values gone?
Briannarchy
Too ‘big brother’ for me…i’ll keep using cash for as long as i can, thank you
Rebecca
no because it won’t feel like i am actually spending money and so i will end up buying more without realising it. having real money makes you much more aware of your budget and how much you have left
ELACCA
Great idea, but what happens when you lose your phone and can it even be used on all phones or just smartphones?!
George
i think it is a great idea
Jasming
money can spread germs and possibly dusty
Boz
If it is safe to use then i would try it. Concern is what happens when you loose your phone?
Theres
I wouldn’t be entirely comfortable payimg by phone. I’d imagine people running into me with a machine in their jacket which makes my phone ‘pay’ without me wanting to, for example. :(
Matt
the only problem is that phones die. no battery, no money!
John And Amy
This is a smart way to pay for items without needing to carry around money, so there is less chance of losing your money. Also, you end up carrying less items. :)
Ianua Zalicarim
this is a greatide, though would neccessary to own a mobile.
T
it’s a great idea but not 4 everyone : we need choices and dierse methods of payment. if l want to give cash as a gift or pay our milk bill the mobile option would not be practical.
Melody
i wold not use my phone to pay because it is unsafe and people can hack accounts, etc. i would use paypal though. :-)
Denize, Windsor
i believe computers and electronics will be the bane of our society: peoples expectations have become quicker knowledge equals power and soiety is too powerful in the wrong context
Diana
will be so much easier!!! :) i think i should give a try! :)
Anonymous.
I think not, because some people haven’t got a phone at all.
Des Livings
I wouldn’t use it yet. This about confidence. I want to be sure that money cannot be taken just by being near a reader. Just imagine s0meone walking down Oxford Street with a mobile reader harvesting
