Commercial spaceship orbits Earth

    I’ve been reading for a while that space travel will soon be led by commercial companies. Yesterday we got a glimpse of the future when the SpaceX Dragon spaceship became the first craft built by a private company to successfully orbit the Earth.

    NASA, the US space agency, intends to pay SpaceX to take astronauts and equipment to the International Space Station using the Dragon capsule.

The Dragon capsule was launched into space yesterday by the Falcon 9 rocket, also built by SpaceX.
