Superbug threat

    I only ever take antibiotics if I have no other choice. Because microbes can quickly develop resistance, it isn’t a good idea for us to use antibiotics too often. Some superbugs are already resistant to even the strongest types.

    The UK’s Chief Medical Officer, Professor Sally Davies, believes that unless the pharmaceutical industries can find some new solutions, we’ll end up taking a step back to the 19th century – where a routine operation might kill you because of bacterial infection. Now that is a scary thought!
