Sunspot silence?

  • June 15, 2011 | Priya

The Sun is confusing – not just because I’m wondering where summer has gone…

New research says that the Sun might be entering its quietest period in centuries. Sunspots are magnetic solar storms. They signal how active the Sun is. Fewer sunspots are being spotted at the moment than predicted.

But just last week the Sun let off a big solar flare, followed by lots of media panic about satellite damage and weather changes. Should we be worried? Or is the Sun taking a time-out?

Thanks science museum for this article. I love antenna because it has the latest science news and I am interested in astrology. My friend has also worked out the theory of everything he says “it’s simple, there is a black hole in the middle of the universe spewing out contents from another universe”
    Thank you science museum!!!!

But where do the contents of that ‘other universe’ come from?
